New Callboard Format Debuts!

We've started 2012 off with a new style Callboard delivered directly to your email! The new version was sent out on January 1, 2012 and if you were receiving the "old" paper version you should have gotten the new e-Callboard.

Didn't get your Callboard for some reason? First, check your junk mail folders and if it's not there please email our Executive Secretary, Nancy Peska at info@communitytheatre.org (there's an email link at the top of this page) and we'll look into the problem.

Happy NewYear!

Introducing the CTAM Resource Directory

Purpose and Mission:

  • To coordinate at the state level the availability of specific costumes, props, set dressing and set pieces that member groups can buy, rent or borrow from other member groups.
  • To enable member groups to rent, sell or lend items they have used in specific shows to other groups, while at the same time, allowing groups to buy, rent or borrow these items, rather than purchasing or making the items from scratch.
  • To create another CTAM service that enhances the value of group membership.
  • To ease the individual frustration of members who carry the responsibility of finding such items for shows being presented by their home group.

What could be included:

  • Full-show costumes (like Cats),
  • Specific costumes (like the rabbit in Harvey),
  • Unique set pieces (like the hotel revolving door for 70 Girls 70),
  • Basic set construction components like 4x8 platforms, stair units or turntables,
  • Complete sets (like Black Patent Leather Shoes)
  • Painted drops and rain curtains and cycs,
  • Specific props (like the fatal scissors in Dial M for Murder).

How it works:

Transactions are between the renter and the borrower.  CTAM is not involved in the transaction in any way and bears no responsibility for the success or failure of the transaction.

CTAM will post a list on the website of the items available and the contact information.  People are free to peruse the list and carry on the transaction from there.

Click Here to access the current listing.

(Please note that, until others begin listing their materials, the available list is primarily from Grosse Pointe Theatre. That will change as other groups survey their storage areas and recognize that others may be able to use their excess inventory.)

To include items from your group on this listing, please e-mail coordinator Mary Lou Britton at mellbee@earthlink.net the following information for the listing:

  • The show(s) the item could be used in.
  • Item Name
  • Item Description
  • Whether the item is available for rent, sale, negotiable, or free
  • The name of the CTAM Member group offering the item
  • Contact information

Because this is a new program for CTAM, your thoughts and comments are welcome. If we can make it better and more useful, please let us know!
